An interesting blend of Vietnam from north to south including an o/n sleeper train. The success and enjoyment of these trips is usually down to the blend of fellow travellers and team leader and this one was no different. The weather,early season, was mixed with a little more rain and cloud than hoped for but did not detract from the enjoyment but a little more sunshine would have enhanced the countryside. A read of the brochure and trip notes will give a very accurate picture of the breadth and variety of the trip. The daily riding distances are mainly governed by the fitness of the participants and their ability to cover the miles in a reasonable time and for the first time in my experience of 7 trips we were delayed by some participants who frankly were not cycling fit and I wonder if they had read and understood the pre - trip advice!
I am a little late in posting a review. We returned from this trip in early March, right when everything started to close down due to Covid-19. I can tell you that the memories of this trip have kept me going while sheltering in place. If you are thinking this might be the trip for you, please know that it is very fast paced with moving from place to place almost every night was quite challenging. The cycling itself was challenging based on ones fitness level. My husband completed every kilometer, while I did about three-quarters of the cycling. A lot of it depends on the heat, but for a female in my early 50s, I found it very doable. We had the most fabulous guide and crew. I cannot say enough of about our guide Son - he was absolutely amazing - taking care of all the details while we enjoyed ourselves. There are plenty of water/snack stops with fresh fruit and amazing snacks (ginger/nuts/cookies). They take very good care of you
Wir haben schon ein paar Radtouren gemacht und diese war wahrscheinlich die beste. Tri, unser Führer war hervorragend und alle unsere Mitradfahrer waren tolle Leute. Wir haben einen echten Einblick in das Leben in Vietnam bekommen. Viel interessantes Essen. Die Mahlzeiten waren gut und reichlich. Thought we would lose weight but didn't! Gute Hotels. Viele Highlights, aber ein paar oder so, die ich hervorheben möchte,Walinsel und Hoi An, die 30 km aufregende Abfahrt und das Radfahren im Innenstadtverkehr ...... Ein großer Spaß, der aber das Herz höher schlagen lässt. Es ist ziemlich voll, was Lust macht, mehr Zeit an einigen der besuchten Orte zu verbringen. Das übliche Muster ist erreicht 5 - 6 Uhr, gehen um 7.15 am nächsten Morgen. Wir fanden jedoch Zeit, in den Hotelpools zu schwimmen. Der Nachtzug hat großen Spaß gemacht ... alles Teil des Abenteuers. Um die gesamte Länge des Landes abzudecken, muss man mit dem Bus einige Zeit länger verbringen, aber der Bus war komfortabel, bot aber eine gute Gelegenheit, sich mit den Mitreisenden zu unterhalten. Dadurch haben Sie auch Zeit, mehr vom Land und den Leuten zu sehen. Wir waren verblüfft, wie viel man auf einen Roller packen konnte!Die Fahrräder waren ideal für die Straßenverhältnisse, außerdem sauber und sehr gepflegt. Bei den häufigen Einkehr-/Rastplätzen gab es jede Menge Saft, Wasser, Obst, Nüsse und Kekse. Der Fahrer und der Fahrradmechaniker waren sehr freundlich und sehr kompetent. Tolle Organisation, Dinge passierten, als Tri sagte, dass sie es tun würden

Lifelong memories
We were part of a group of 17 who quickly formed a close bond created entirely by the enthusiasm and generosity of our leader. Nothing was too much trouble Long went out of his way every day to make sure we experienced in full life in Vietnam. The trip ran like clockwork, without us feeling we were being rushed at any stage. He made it fun even when we cycled 100 k in a day taking in a very high mountain pass.
