Saint-Tropez is much more than its reputation as a playground for the rich and famous. Sure, you’ll see the luxury yachts and the glamorous parties, but there’s another side to this iconic French Riviera town that most people miss. This tour will take you through the charming Old Port, past the bustling market stalls, and into the quieter, more authentic corners of Saint-Tropez. We’ll uncover its colorful history, from the days of the artist Brigitte Bardot to its role as a military stronghold. You’ll also get a taste of the local food scene and the laid-back atmosphere that makes Saint-Tropez so special.
We’ll start by taking in the sights of the Old Port, where I’ll tell you about the history of Saint-Tropez’s transformation from a sleepy fishing village to a glamorous destination.
Prossimo, we’ll head up to the Citadel for panoramic views of the town and the Mediterranean. I’ll explain how the citadel helped protect the area during the 17th century, and share a bit about its history as a military fort.
We’ll finish the tour at the local market, where you’ll get a taste of Provence—fresh fruits, pastries, and cheeses. It’s the best way to experience the authentic flavors of Saint-Tropez.
Comfortable shoes for walking are recommended, and don’t forget sunglasses! It can get quite hot on sunny days.
SÌ! While the tour is walking-intensive, the fascinating history and local stories are perfect for kids too.
