Welcome to one of Europe’s natural wonders—the stunning Dune du Pilat! This experience is perfect for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike. I’ll take you up this massive dune, the tallest in Europe, where you’ll see breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, the lush Landes Forest, and the Arcachon Bay. Along the way, I’ll share stories of the region, its history, and its diverse ecosystem. Each step up the sand is worth it, and the view from the top is a memory that’ll last a lifetime.
We’ll gather at the base of the dune near the main parking area, where I’ll give an intro to the region and an outline of our morning together.
Ascend the famous Dune du Pilat while I share some of the dune’s incredible history, from ancient geological formation to its current status as a protected site. Feel free to take breaks—no rush here.
Once we reach the top, you’ll have time to explore, take photos, and soak in the stunning surroundings. A perfect spot to catch your breath and snap unforgettable photos.
On the way back, I’ll point out some local spots worth checking out, from nearby seafood restaurants to peaceful beaches along the coast.
Comfortable walking shoes, ideally ones that don’t mind a bit of sand! Also, don’t forget sun protection and a reusable water bottle.
